Irving George Lehman

Born in Kiev, Irving Lehman studied at the Art Students League and Cooper Union in New York City, eventually becoming a Member of the American Artists Congress, American Abstract Artists and other contemporary avant-garde groups. He worked for the WPA.

His work won international acclaim from England, Israel, Paris.  His work has been exhibited in numerous American and European institutions and galleries.
He appears in the 1986 Who’s Who, Who Was Who in American Art, Davenports, the Annual Exhibition records of the Art Institute of Chicago, the National Academy of Design, the Biennnial Exhibitions of the Whitney, the Pennsylvania Academy. AskArt lists fifteen books with references to Lehman.
