Watercolors from America

Richard Haley Lever NA RA RWA

1920s & 1930s
145--16" x 20-20+
A child genius who arrived at St. Ives from Austrailia and quickly established himself. His move to America, where he spent most of his career, was highly successful. Although somewhat eclipsed by the sweep of Abstract Expressionism, his auction records and gallery prices have climbed steadily.
   Major Prizes: Royal Institute (1936), NAD 1914,1936, 1938, National Arts Club 1914. 1915, 1916, 1922 & 1940, Panama-Pacific Expo 1915, PAFA 1917 & 1926, 1918
Permanent Collections include PAFA, Metropolitan, Boston, Baltimore, Corcoran, White House, Ft. Worth, Dallas, LA , Detroit Institute of Art, Adelaide, Sydney, Whitney, Syracuse, St. Louis, Memphis Art, and many others.
This group of watercolors are directly from the Clayton Libertore Gallery which handled his work and his estate until it closed in 2006. These larger format watercolors had never been matted or shown.  We will mat them for $10 each. Most are identified as to location.
We had a long time relationship with Mary Libertore and these are now available for less than we paid for similar ones at wholesale prices some years ago.We still have a few oil paintings by him left, to see click here.
