Kurt Roesch

Born in Germany at the start of the century, Roesch studied in Berlin at the Academy Art with K. Hofer. He was a member of the American Art Congress and the NH Art Association.

He exhibted at venues such as the MET, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Carnegie, AIC, the VMFA, WMAA (1945-63), the PAFA Annual (1947, 1950-53), the Corcoran biennial (1947) and several solo shows at the Curt Valentin Gallery (1949-53) and the Currier Gallery (1955) both in New York City. His works are held in the collections of the MET, the MoMA, the Albright-Knox art Gallery in Buffalo, NY, MMA, the Currier Gallery, the University of Minnesota and the University of Nebraska.

In addition to his success as a painter, Roesch also illustrated limited edition books of poet's works and taught for a time at Sarah Lawrence College in New York.
