Wild Shapes & Colors - Chalet / EDAG / Lorraine Glas Industries

Canadian Murano Artisans

PRICE IS FOR THE ENTIRE LOT

We bought all these pieces in 1987 on a trip through Ontario. When we discovered that they were Canadian we sadly sold a number for at a yard sale for less than we paid for them and then boxed the rest. Most regrettably, we sold the ones that were signed. others had labels that we scraped off. You never know!

Chalet art glass was made in Cornwall by Muranese immigrant glassmakers from 1961-76. Typical wild freeform glass table pieces in various colors cf: Fifties Glass, Pina - Visit Chalet Collectors Web Site.

Angelo Tedesco settled in Montreal in 1952 and was joined by Luigi Tedesco, and his brother-in-law, Sergio Pagnin. They established a small glassmaking factory “Les Industries de Verre et Miroirs”.  In 1960 the name was changed to Murano Glass. Chalet, EDAG and Lorraine Glass Industries all employed Murano artisans
