From Zoom Info: Melvin Jay Lindsay has been an artist working in pottery, sculpture, and sketchbooks for the past 43 years in New York. Raised in the Northwest and a graduate of the University of Oregon, Lindsay has always loved travel and when possible, during the cold New York winters, traveled and sketched around the world. He has filled over 30 sketchbooks with watercolors and ink drawings. These would inspire his work in ceramics and sculpture upon his return.
Lindsay managed and taught ceramics at Garrison Art Center, served on the Board of Directors and was Director of the Center in 1980-81. He work at Tallix Foundry for 17 years and was the enlarger on the Leonardo da Vinci, 24-foot horse project, which was cast and is now in Milan, Italy.
Lindsay has exhibited his work in Ed Levin, Elements, and Fairtree Galleries in New York and the Yamato House in Lenox, Massachusetts, as well as numerous group shows throughout the Northeast.
