Forced to flee her home in Austria, she came to  New York in 1938 as a jewelry designer  while beginning to paint  Best known for her paintings of burning synagogues, her work  is in the permanent collections of the Jewish Museum, Yeshiva Museum, NYC, Schloss Belvedere in Vienna, the Library of Congress, several university collections and museums in Austria and Israel.  She was a recipient of the Grumbacher Award. Her work is discussed McBee’s “Lost Synagogues of the Shoah." She had a number of solo exhibitions with several galleries and at the Belvedere Museum.
