Loyalist Colonial Side Chair

New Hampshire Rocking / Sheraton-George IV Side Chair

Early American Americana

18th Century

Handmade reproduction needlepoint bargello cushion on fine American/Canadian George IV or Sheraton style chair - belonged to a Loyalist family who left Maine after the Revolution and went across the border to New Brunswick, Canada.

Tall rocking Chair - 1780-1800
The rockers have been replaced as as is to be expected. The caning is more recent, as well. The fine simplicity recalls Shaker furniture of the same era. It mixes well with modern, as it had in its previous home. Identified by Morgan MacWhinnie.
