Kathy Muehlemann

USA 1950
1980 24 x 36 oil on canvas

“Kathy Muehlemann makes abstract paintings with white spots glimmering in the darkness in ways that suggest artists as different as Ross Bleckner and Tom Fellner. Her paintings are small, about 20 by 16 inches. Most of them are different shades of black, although there is often a richness of color that can only be seen from almost on top of the canvas”  - Michael Brenson, New York Times 1989
